Your new image

You can have a new image! Everyone will gather at your door and tell you how fantastic you are if you just follow these instructions:
Build a BETTE NOIR (cake with no flour)
Here is the recipe:
8 oz unsalted butter, room temperature, cut into small pieces
8 oz unsweetened chocolate
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, both cut in small pieces
1 and 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
5 eggs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees with rack in the center of oven
Butter a 9" straight-sided cake pn. Place a circle of parchment in the pan and butter the parchment
Place 1 cup of sugar and the water in a small sauce pan and bring to rapid boil
Remove from heat and immediately add both chocolates
Add the butter piece by piece and stir until it disolves
Beat the eggs and remaining 1/3 cup of sugar until thick and add the chocolate/butter mixture
Combine gently, but well, with a rubber spatula scraper and then pour into the
prepared pan
Bake in a Bain Marie for 30 to 35 minutes until tip is dry and firm
Unmold right away--not onto a rack but onto the serving plate.

A Bain Marie is a 2 sided pan with water between the pans. Fill the pan with water, being careful to not fill too much to avoid water getting into the cake.

Top with whipped cream, ice cream, raspberry sauce, anglais or chocolate curls.

Serves 10 normal people or 5 honkers.

This dessert is soooooo good you will be the talk of the town !! Guaranteed !

Developing an attitude of gratitude is or should be the most important character trait we can develop. It stands out against honesty, integrity, kindness, and generosity and patience. Being genuinely grateful for our blessings (no matter where they come from) can be somewhat unnerving at times. If we dislike the giver of such a blessing we may be reluctant to accept it at face value. Or we may be reluctant to accept it because we feel it is given in the sense of someone just 'doing a duty', so we need not be grateful at all.
Not so. A grateful heart shows love to the giver. A grateful heart shall be honest in the acceptance of the gift. A grateful heart shows that we appreciate the patience and generosity of the giver and the effort they have gone to to make our life a little happier.

Gratitude is 2-sided, benefiting the giver and the receiver.

Ruth-- Love you all
